1. What are cookies
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They help the site remember your preferences and function correctly.
2. What cookies we use
Without your OK we use essential cookies only. These are strictly necessary for the website to operate and cannot be disabled without affecting core site functionality. If you choose Accept analytics in our cookie banner, we also use Google Analytics, described below. We do not use:
- Advertising or targeting cookies
- Social media tracking cookies
- Analytics cookies, unless you choose Accept analytics
- Behavioural profiling cookies
Analytics only with your OK (Google Analytics). If you choose Accept analytics, we also use Google Analytics, run by Google LLC in the USA, to see which sources bring visitors (search engines, AI assistants such as ChatGPT or Perplexity, social media) and which pages help, including whether a visit ended in an enquiry: sending the contact form, or asking us to email you the plans you compared. Like any analytics tool it also receives the page you are on (without its query string, except campaign tags), the name of the website that sent you, a random identifier kept in two first-party cookies (_ga and _ga_1Z5CET7SC4, which expire 13 months after they are set), your browser and device type, time on page, and an approximate location that Google works out from your IP address (Google does not store the IP address). We never send it your name, email address, phone or WhatsApp number, or anything you type into a form or to Nomi. Its advertising features, Google signals and data sharing are switched off, and event- and user-level data is deleted after 2 months; only aggregated reports with no identifier (counts by page, source and country) are kept longer. Google processes it in the USA and other countries where it operates, under its data processing terms, which include the EU Standard Contractual Clauses; see how Google uses information from sites that use its services. If you choose Essential only, Google Analytics is never loaded.
3. Cookies and storage we set
- cogotec_cookie_consent — remembers your choice in the cookie banner (Accept analytics or Essential only). Essential. Kept in your browser's local storage rather than as a cookie, until you change your choice or clear this site's data. Purpose: to avoid showing the banner on every visit.
- _ga — Google Analytics: a random identifier that tells one visitor from another. Provider: Google. Duration: 13 months. Set only after you choose Accept analytics.
- _ga_1Z5CET7SC4 — Google Analytics: keeps the state of your visit to this site. Provider: Google. Duration: 13 months. Set only after you choose Accept analytics.
4. Your choices
When you first visit our site, a cookie banner asks whether to Accept analytics or keep Essential only, and remembers your answer on this device. You can change it at any time:
Choosing Essential only stops Google Analytics at once and deletes its cookies from this site; if it was running on that page, the page reloads.
5. Third-party services
Our Nomi AI chat widget may set its own cookies. We recommend reviewing Nomi's privacy policy for full details. We do not control the cookies set by third-party services embedded on this site.
